Silver Lake Country Club is a semi-private 18 hole golf course located in Spring Lake, Michigan. The course is open for public play and membership options are also available.
The course first opened for play in 1925. Farmer, Carl Young, using a horse and plow repurposed a part of his farm into a 9-hole golf course. In 1929, another 9-holes and the clubhouse were added.
The course does not overly challenge with length, but it does have a number of blind shots and plenty of out of bounds stakes lining the fairways. The fairways are tree-lined and hilly. The small greens are slightly undulated and well bunkered.
Par for the course is 72. From the back tees, the course plays to 6,328 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 5,262 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 1, a par-5 that plays to 498 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 8, a par-3 that plays to 153 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 9, a 398-yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Spring Lake Golf Course is # 16, a 173 yard par-3.

After over 90 years in business, the current owners say they are closing the Silver Lake Country Club golf course and selling the carts and maintenance equipment.
The family who owns the golf course was trying to negotiate a sale to a developer who wants to build about 450 condos, apartments and senior citizen assisted living units on the property.
A sign on the pro shop door says the golf course was closing on September 18, 2019.
